The kayaks in our outlet come from our various operations or are deemed factory seconds during our most rigorous quality assurance process.

Factory seconds: The kayak has minor aesthetical deviations compared to a 100% QC-approved standard product. Like uneven masking (edges between colored and clear gelcoat), small air bubbles and/or dry-spots in the visible materials (flax / cork / soric-core), or other non critical things identified during our most rigorous quality assurance process. Most things are not even possible to identify for the general audience.

Advantages of buying a used kayak

At Melker, we are constantly working to find innovative and sustainable ways to reduce our and our users climate impact and footprint. One of the easiest ways to do this is by giving factory seconds or already pre-loved kayaks a new life. Even though we know that the feeling of a completely new and shiny kayak is hard to beat, there are many advantages to buying an already used kayak.

• Lower price: Used kayaks are usually cheaper than new kayaks, which can save you some money.
• More value for your money: You can often get more quality for your money with a used kayak than with a brand new kayak at the same price.
• Less loss in value: New kayaks lose some value with it's first scratches. A used kayak has already lost some of its value, which can reduce the risk of larger losses if you want to sell it later.
• Unique design: Older models of kayaks can have a unique design or style that is no longer available, which can be appealing to some people.
• Less environmental impact: By buying a used kayak, you are contributing positively to the environment, as you don't buy a new kayak that requires both manufacturing and transportation.

Security, quality, and condition

To make you feel confident about buying from our outlet, we thoroughly assess every kayak before delivery. If we find any faults or problems, we fix them so that your kayak is ready for paddling when you pick it up.

Of course, all kayaks in our outlet are in different conditions, and we try to be as clear as possible about what they look like, what repairs have been made to them, or if there are any deviations from the standard product. However, we always recommend that you come to us and have a look at the kayak before making a purchase.

2 - Used in our business, shows with scratches on the hull and some on the deck.

3 - Used a lot in our business, shows with a lot of scratches on the hull and the majority on the deck.

4 - Same as 3 with one or more fixes (without disability).
