Empty your kayak of water with this kayak bilge pump!
With a bilge pump on the kayak, you will easily be able to handle all unexpected wet situations you may end up in when you paddle a kayak.
The pump complements your paddle float as a perfect kit when you are out paddling yourself. They are both at least as important to have when you paddle with others.
How do I use a bilge pump for kayaking?
When you get back into your cockpit after an unexpected (or expected) swim, there is usually a lot of water left in the kayak. It is now that your bilge pump comes in handy. Start by closing your spray skirt to protect you from more water splashing into the cockpit from potetial waves. Then open up the skirt a little on the opposit side of the waves and stick your pump down there.
Place the paddle with the blades up 90 degrees from your kayak and clamp it to the kayak by placing your elbows on it. Now you have both hands free to pump the water out of your kayak. Or as Emil usually says - Pump yourself warm.
